Shanaru is an Italian comic artist and illustrator with a bold, hybrid style that blends the impact of American comics with the expressiveness of manga. Her work is marked by dynamic line modulation and bold, impactful coloring. Over time, she has specialized in inking and cover art, refining a style that is both versatile and immediately recognizable.

Ludovica Giustiziero, aka Shanaru, is a comic book artist and illustrator based in Italy. Her artistic identity is defined by a unique synthesis of American comics and Japanese manga, blended into a clean, powerful style with a strong visual impact. Her work is characterized by a flexible use of line and precise, vivid color choices—elements that give her illustrations both strength and clarity.
She studied at the comic art school Lupiae Comix – Gruppo Grafite in Lecce, Italy, and continued her artistic development through specialized training. Between 2017 and 2019, she took part in two workshops hosted by The Fine Art Collective – Italy: Professional Acrylic System (Liquitex) and Coloring Techniques (Winsor & Newton).
From 2020 to 2021, she attended advanced courses in Cover Art (with Pasquale Qualano) and Technologies, Setting and Storytelling (with Davide Fabbri), both at Grafite – Scuola di Fumetto.
Since 2020, Shanaru has been an active member of the Black List Crew studio, where she participated in the Ink Contest 2020 and contributed to various creative projects. In 2023, she produced illustrations for the At Arms project and served as Art Director for the comic book The Unseen, both published by Black List Crew. She currently continues her role as Art Director within the studio, overseeing visual development and creative direction.
Her training in digital tools includes the Digital Manga course at Lucca Manga School (2023) and the Drawing with the iPad course at Scuola Romana di Fumetto (2024). Shanaru continues to enhance her skills through self-directed study, with a focus on artistic growth, narrative depth, and professional versatility.
